Lipsticks that cling to mobile phones, eye shadow balls and handmade bejeweled soaps were just some of the new launches displayed at Beautyworld Frankfurt in January.

Tiered cake soaps by Agema look good enough to eat.
Tiered cake soaps by Dutch company Agema looked sweet enough to eat, but were intended to be cut in store to sell slices individually. Package designs included fragrance bottles with jewels, crystals and flowers inside and out and even plastic goldfish in bags. English brand Bronnley, official toilet soap makers to HM The Queen, presented its new Lily of the Valley range and a unique library style case to package its new Herbarium men’s soap collection.

Wet’n’Wild USA displayed several clever launches, all reflecting the company’s new look, which promotes a sexy, fun lifestyle. The company’s latest lip gloss range, Glassy Gloss Jelly Popps, is packaged in a pocket-size crystal shaped ball. Hot Lips To Go, a mini lip gloss set, includes a key ring so it can be attached to a mobile phone.

Galvagni wraps its jars in faux animal skins.
New German skin care brand La Vigne, manufactured by premium wine grower Regina Menger-Krug was appropriately housed in wine-colored packaging; the range is made from first-class Burgundy vines and antioxidant ingredients. Rejecting the need for traditional packaging, Japan-based KPerfumes sells its new Aromatic Journey fragrances in zip-lock plastic bags. German Spa Company Galvagni wraps the jars for its African-themed range of skin care in attention-grabbing faux wild animal skin fabric, and markets products such as buffalo milk lotion and black diamond creams.

La Vigne plays up its wine base with burgundy-colored packaging.
The Beautyworld Cup was presented to Regina Stahl, beauty editor of German Vogue for her outstanding contribution to the cosmetics industry. This is the first time that a member of the media has won the coveted glass sculpture award.
